Sacramental Preparation For Children

2009 - 2010 Preparation Schedule

Therese Le Fever - Director
203-375-5887

Welcome

Dear Parents:
The Parish of St. James is very excited about your decision to prepare your child for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Just as Baptism began your child’s initiation in the faith, preparing for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist continues this process as your child matures and grows in understanding and relationship with God.

Please begin to pray with your child the following:

Thanks and praise for the gift of His love;

Ask for an open heart so that you can receive His gift of love; and

Say you are sorry for any hurt you have caused and forgive anyone who has hurt you.

We hope that this time of preparation will be an opportunity for you and your child to experience God’s healing power and grow in love for Jesus Christ.

God Bless You,
Fr. Tom Lynch

Parent Commitment

Sunday Worship

Attendance at Sunday Liturgy is an essential part of your child’s preparation for sacraments. Parents who choose to participate in our program are making a firm commitment to bring their child to Sunday Worship.

Study of God’s Word

Reading the scriptures draws us into a closer relationship with God. As a parent in our program, you will be asked not only to make a commitment to read the stories of Jesus to your child, but also to set aside time for yourself to read and reflect on the Word of God.
