CONECT is Congregations Organized for a New Connecticut.  St. James is one of 30 religious institutions from Norwalk to East Haven that as a group help to discover, research, analyze and articulate a powerful moral voice to negotiate with business and government leaders regarding social, economic, and political issues that affect our members.  For information contact Liz Keenan at elizabethkeenan61@gmail.com.

 

Crop Walk

The Greater Bridgeport Crop Walk occurs on the first Sunday of May each year where churches come together to walk and raise money for the hungry in our community.  To make a contribution or to join us in the walk contact Jim Hodska at jhods@aol.com.

 

Merton House

Four times a year St. James volunteers meet to make lunches for the poor who come to The Thomas Merton Center in Bridgeport.  We always need sandwich makers and people to deliver and serve the lunches.  Contact Jim Hodska at jhods@aol.com.

 

 

Mercy Learning Center

The Mercy Learning Center educates and empowers women who strive to break the cycles of illiteracy and poverty.  We support their efforts by contributions and to make a donation contact Jim Hodska at jhods@aol.com.

 

Covenant to Care

Covenant to Care for Children helps Connecticut’s children in need.  St. James helps by providing food, children’s clothing and school supplies.  To help contact Brigid LaBash at mlabash@snet.net.

 

St. Joseph’s Covenant

St Joseph Church rural Virginia provides medical care for the impoverished people in that region who cannot afford basic care.  St. James sends new medical supplies twice per year.  To contribute contact Jim Hodska at jhods@aol.com
