Objectives:

 

   1.      Supports the Pastor to safeguard the assets of the Parish

   2.      Assists the Pastor in the preparation of budgets

   3.      Monitors, with the Pastor, the financial performance and

            effectiveness of offertory collections and other fund-raising activities

   4.      Helps to develop, with the Pastor, long-range plans for the

            financing of repairs and renovations of property and purchase of equipment,

             as needed

   5.      Oversees, with the Pastor, implementation of all Diocesan policies

            on financial matters, spending guidelines and long-range plans for Parish

            investments

   6.      Monitors, with the Pastor, procedures and controls to ensure that

            all requirements of federal and state tax and employment laws are met and

            accurate records are maintained

   7.      Increase the Finance Stewardship Gifts to the Parish.

   8.      Develop a greater commitment to Financial Stewardship by this Community of

             Faith.

          A.      Educate the community regarding the meaning of financial

                 stewardship through various means.

          B.      Have witness talks regarding stewardship.

          C.      Promote and increase the levels of giving (fair exchange,

                 generosity, and sacrificial giving).

          D.      Have an affirmation and thanksgiving ministry to express

                  appreciation of the gifts given.

   9.     Increase commitment to the future of St. James.

          A.      Raise the parishioners' awareness of opportunities to

                    continue to support the community in future generations through wills and

                    bequests.

          B.      Orient new parishioners regarding their financial

                    responsibility to St. James.
